Job Title: Business Analyst – Banking Operations (T1 Settlement) Location: Hybrid Job Type: Contract, Inside IR35 Pay: £500 - £650 per day Role Overview: City based Bank are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in banking operations and a deep understanding of trade settlement cycles, specifically T1. This role is crucial in supporting operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and business transformation initiatives driven by shortened settlement timelines. Key Responsibilities: Gather and analyse business requirements from stakeholders across operations, technology, and compliance. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for post-trade processing, especially in equities and fixed income settlements under T1 regimes. Map current and future state processes to identify gaps and recommend operational enhancements. Collaborate with project teams to design and implement systems and workflow changes for T1 compliance. Facilitate workshops, conduct impact analysis, and create detailed business and functional requirement documents (BRDs/FRDs). Work closely with IT and QA teams to support solution design, testing, and defect resolution. Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations (e.g., SEC mandates) for T1 settlements. Provide training, documentation, and go-live support to end users and stakeholders. Track and report project progress, risks, and dependencies. Required Skills & Experience: Experience as a Business Analyst within the banking industry with a strong understanding of settlement processes (T2 and T1) for securities, including operational implications. Experience with middle- and back-office operations including trade capture, matching, confirmations, settlement, and reconciliation. Familiarity with SWIFT messaging, FIX protocols, DTCC, Euroclear, or other CSD/clearing systems. Proficiency in business process modeling, use case creation, and data flow analysis. Prior involvement in regulatory change projects, especially those driven by SEC, FINRA, or equivalent global bodies. Experience working in Agile and Waterfall project environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with change programs triggered by T1 settlement migration. Working knowledge of trade lifecycle management systems (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Broadridge). Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMP, or FINRA Series licenses. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field.
