Product Manager – Direct Customer Channel at Hiscox UK. This role focuses on driving transformation of the direct customer journey, digital engagement and self‑serve capabilities within the direct insurance business.
Main Responsibilities
* Act as the UKLT’s front door to transformation, reporting to the relevant UKLT member on a dotted‑line basis.
* Define, own and iterate the product vision and strategy for the Direct Customer Channel using both external and internal data.
* Backlog ownership – define outcomes, prioritise epics and features using a transparent, value‑based framework.
* Work embedded in the business area with senior leaders to co‑create strategy, translate it into capability needs and evolve the roadmap.
* Develop and manage the business area roadmap, ensuring clear alignment with the overall business strategy.
* Trade‑off management – make and defend complex prioritisation and investment trade‑offs across competing strategic objectives.
* Accountable for the delivery and optimisation of material business benefits, including commercial growth, efficiency and customer outcomes; track performance, identify risks and drive corrective action.
* Identify opportunities to enable business‑owned change, enhance flexibility and agility in delivery.
* Define success metrics (OKRs/KPIs), monitor performance and iterate accordingly.
Candidate Profile
* Strong experience in the insurance sector, as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager, in complex or regulated environments with exposure to direct or customer‑facing insurance propositions.
* Proven track record of partnering with senior stakeholders, including executive/ExCo‑level leaders, to shape strategy and influence investment decisions.
* Experience leading and delivering large‑scale product or transformation initiatives across complex business domains.
* Strategic and commercial mindset, capable of balancing growth, efficiency and customer outcomes.
* Experience owning and evolving product roadmaps, prioritising and making trade‑offs, and driving benefits realisation.
* Strong capability in discovery, problem framing and working closely with design, technology and business teams to shape solutions.
* Experience embedding customer insight into product and roadmap decisions, especially in digital or customer‑facing environments.
* Comfortable operating in matrixed, cross‑functional environments with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate the case for change.
* Experience working in Agile product environments, including backlog ownership and delivery oversight.
* Data‑driven mindset, with experience tracking performance and delivering measurable outcomes.
* Collaborative leadership style, able to bring others along the transformation journey.
