Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiactic and pro‑active Pharmacy Technician with excellent problem solving skills who is self‑motivated and organised to work as a part of the team at CRH involving Medicines Administration and Medicines Optimisation. The role will involve providing a clinical pharmacy and medication administration service to the acute respiratory unit at CRH. You need to be comfortable administering to all patients in this group. You will be based on the ward for the majority of the time, administering medication and supporting the discharge process and flow of medication in the ward. This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and really become part of the ward team.
Responsibilities
* Administer medicines to patients in the acute respiratory unit and in the Respiratory Support Unit.
* Support the discharge process and the flow of medication on the ward.
* Perform medicines reconciliation and controlled drug audits.
* Provide counselling to patients and training/mentorship of colleagues.
* Collect and present data to demonstrate the benefits of expanding pharmacy into new areas.
* Work within the small team and independently under the direction of the hospital pharmacy team.
