Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate chef to join our team at our pub-based restaurant. As a chef, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests, creating delicious dishes while ensuring high quality and presentation standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pub-style cooking and a creative approach to menu planning. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well under pressure are key attributes for this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Menu Planning and Execution:
2. Collaborate with the management team to develop and update menus, keeping in mind seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and pub food trends.
3. Prepare and cook food items following established recipes and presentation guidelines, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
4. Continuously improve and experiment with dishes to maintain an innovative and exciting menu selection.
5. Food Preparation and Kitchen Operations:
6. Oversee daily food preparation, including but not limited to butchering meat, chopping vegetables, and preparing sauces.
7. Ensure all food products are stored, prepared, and handled according to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
8. Manage stock levels, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency in the kitchen.
9. Team Collaboration and Leadership:
10. Train and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations and high-quality output.
11. Foster a positive working environment, promoting teamwork, clear communication, and a shared commitment to excellence.
12. Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff, to provide exceptional service and culinary experiences for guests.
13. Cost Control and Budget Management:
14. Assist in budget planning and cost control measures to maintain profitability without compromising quality.
15. Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering ingredients and supplies as needed, while minimizing waste and overstock.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a chef, preferably with a background
