Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor to join our team, providing guidance and support to children in their educational and personal development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields, and possess the ability to foster a positive learning environment. This role is essential for helping children build confidence, develop skills, and achieve their goals.
Duties
* Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, focusing on their individual needs and learning styles.
* Assist with academic subjects such as Maths and language skills through tutoring and engaging activities.
* Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
* Utilise knowledge of speech therapy techniques when necessary to support communication development.
* Create lesson plans and educational activities that cater to various learning abilities, including those with special educational needs.
* Foster a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and exploration in early childhood settings.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
* Maintain accurate records of progress and provide constructive feedback to children and their guardians.
* Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance mentoring skills and stay updated on best practices in education.
Experience
* Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
* Background in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis techniques is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Experience in teaching physical education or other extracurricular activities is beneficial.
* Skills in proofreading and creating educational materials will be advantageous for lesson preparation.
