Job Description:
Manpower is currently seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. The role involves managing formulation, specification, and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects, supporting delivery to market, and ensuring solutions are efficient within European supply chains.
The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. It is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation ranges between £30,800 - £35,000 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience.
The role offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to change based on business needs.
The Assistant Technical Project Leader will support innovation project managers on large, medium, and high-risk projects, coordinate formulation work, implement formulation changes across a brand portfolio, and support packaging solutions with the packaging team.
Key Accountabilities
* Support and assist the Manager/Technical Project Leader across multiple projects, deputise when required, and ensure effective communication with regions and countries.
* Manage innovation projects as a global/regional TPL on small/low-risk projects.
* Contribute to technical documentation, gather cross-functional input, identify project risks, and update stakeholders.
* Prepare documentation for laboratory technicians, such as batch sheets and results templates, and coordinate gas sheet sign-offs where trained.
* Act as formulation contact for projects, providing information and solving formulation and project issues creatively.
* Ensure packaging compatibility with formulation and customer requirements, meeting regulatory, sustainability, and legislation standards.
* Manage packaging activities from primary and secondary packaging to palletisation, working with internal and external partners.
* Complete code summaries to facilitate ordering and ensure accurate Bill of Materials.
Key Requirements
* FMCG background preferred.
* Graduate calibre preferred, but GCSE Math, English, Sciences, or Engineering are minimum requirements.
* Experience in science/lab work, formulation development, project management, claims development, and packaging in FMCG is beneficial.
