Ashvale Civil Engineering are looking for a Health and Safety Coordinator to help manage the H&S requirements across the company.
Based at our Head Office, you will be working on a variety of construction projects. Projects include new build, refurbishment, extensions, groundworks, road works, drainage and more.
You will be shadowing the SHE manager and learning the role, training support will be given for your qualifications in Health & Safety as you progress.
The role will entail liaising with clients, subcontractors, site operatives and site managers. You will be responsible for auditing, training requirements and site inspections, ensuring compliance of all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations along with helping the SHE manager with the updating and progressing of company policies and procedures.
The responsibilities include:
· Ensure that the highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained at all times.
· Oversee and manage company training matrix.
· Arrange external training for the workforce.
· Conduct training, toolbox talks, safety briefings & inductions, where required.
· Undertake site audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on the findings.
· Assessing and managing safety hazards, including completion of H&S paperwork.
· Ensure compliance on all sites.
· CDM advice and guidance
· Develop and implement best practice to improve performance.
· Attending site and management meetings.
· Work collaboratively with external and internal departments to ensure smooth running of health and safety on site, taking appropriate action to address issues or concerns in a timely manner.
· Input and reviewing health and safety records, policies and procedures
· Input and reviewing of risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments.
· Input and reviewing of Pre-construction / Construction Phase Plans and H&S file information.
Requirements:
· Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels is essential.
· Interest in Health and Safety as a career.
· CSCS card holder (preferred but not necessary).
· Full, clean UK driving licence.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· Excellent IT skills and experience in Microsoft Office / 365, including word, excel, outlook, powerpoint, teams, etc.
· Self motivated and looking to progress in your career.
· Able to work under pressure to maintain deadlines.
· Articulate in written and oral English communication.
· Personally presentable at all times.
Benefits:
· Salary range £27,000 to £35,000k per annum (depending on experience).
