Protocol Education are currently recruiting a Behaviour and SEMH Support Assistant to work within a specialist provision in the Peterlee area. The setting supports pupils who may experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, alongside additional learning or communication needs. Many pupils benefit from structured routines, consistent expectations and supportive relationships with staff. As part of the support team, you will help pupils build confidence, develop emotional regulation strategies and engage in learning. Responsibilities may include: • Supporting pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation or behaviour • Promoting positive behaviour strategies and routines • Encouraging pupils to engage with learning activities • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils The school is looking for candidates who are calm, resilient and able to remain supportive in challenging situations. A DBS on the Update Service is preferred, however candidates without one will be required to complete a DBS application through Protocol Education before starting work.
