Job Overview
As an Electrician, you will carry out maintenance on electrical equipment on our Wastewater assets. You will work as part of the main MEI teams, individually or as part of a team, ensuring all systems perform to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
* Maintain, repair and install equipment as part of the main MEI teams, to work individually or as part of a team.
* Fault‑find, rectify problems with electrical systems and all ancillary equipment.
* Install, maintain and repair electrical systems generally to ensure performance of all assets.
* Read, understand and work from electrical drawings.
* Maintain general knowledge and participate in training and knowledge sessions on the Wastewater treatment process.
* Actively take part in Risk Assessment, COSHH assessment and all related Health and Safety issues.
* Identify problematic plant and subsequent faults and help find efficient solutions to return equipment to working order.
* Identify requirement of spares and materials using preferred suppliers.
* Complete all job cards and timesheets to allow for monitoring of workload, performance etc.
* Provide knowledge and onsite support for DCWW capital teams, operational teams and part.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified electrician.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* An excellent understanding of planning and scheduling of work processes.
* The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the team.
* Ability to take responsibility, make decisions and use initiative, working proactively.
* Solution‑focused approach to resolving problems.
* Critical thinking to analyse information and provide solutions to situations effectively.
* Communication and ability to influence others.
* Experience in performing in a confined space is not essential but will need to be completed via in‑house training.
* Compliance with 18th Edition IEE regulations – desirable.
Working Hours & Availability
Good to know: Standby is currently 1 in 4. Friday, Saturday & Sunday are completed together. Planned working time is 260 hrs with no committed hours. A company van will be provided for business use.
