The role
Manchester (Hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote)

Smart DCC is actively seeking a Technical Operations Analyst to join our high-performing TOC (Technical Operations Centre) team.
This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in supporting the UK’s smart energy infrastructure. You’ll monitor the performance and health of the Smart Metering Network, ensuring service levels are met, issues are proactively resolved, and performance insights are delivered to key stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
* Monitor service dashboards, performance tools, and reports to track operational health and SLAs.
* Diagnose anomalies and service degradation issues, escalating or resolving as required.
* Provide expert technical support to Incident, Problem, Change, and Customer Service teams.
* Support major incident management to restore service quickly and minimize customer impact.
* Assist with onboarding new customers and initial smart meter installs.
* Lead data tasks for critical events such as Supplier of Last Resort (SoLR).
* Deliver simplified reports and escalate complex analysis to our Data Science team.
* Communicate performance updates to internal and external stakeholders regularly.
What are we looking for?
* 2+ years' experience in a monitoring environment (NOC, TOC, or high-level Service Centre).
* Strong understanding of smart meter infrastructure, operational SLAs, and system diagnostics.
* Confident stakeholder management and clear communication across all business levels.
* Experience supporting incident and problem management processes.
* Ability to interpret data into trends and actionable insights.
* Familiarity with infrastructure components (e.g., databases, firewalls, servers, networks).
* Working knowledge of ITIL practices.
* Basic SQL and familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server.
* Knowledge of analytics tools like Omniscope.
* Understanding of Remedy or similar ticketing systems.
* Ability and willingness to gain Security Clearance.

Step 1

Step 2
Chat with a recruiter
Once you pass the initial screening stage, one of our recruiters will be in touch to chat through the role and your experience. If all goes well, your application will be passed on to the hiring manager, who'll put together a shortlist for interview.
Step 3
Come for an interview
For most roles there'll be a two-stage interview process, which will include questions about your CV, competency and technical skills. For more senior positions there could be an additional interview stage. You may also be asked to give a presentation or complete a technical test, but we'll let you know in advance so you have plenty of time to prepare.
Step 4
Receive an offer
Once the interview process has been completed the successful candidate will receive an offer. Throughout the interview process the recruiter and hiring manager are happy to answer any questions you have. We want to make sure you have all the information you need to decide whether DCC and the role are right for you.
