Role Overview
Our General Manager is recruiting for experienced and dynamic CCTV Security Investigators to join a highly experienced Central Monitoring Team based in Smethwick.
Effective security is vital to the DPD UK Operation, providing safe environments for employees, property and customers. The role requires independent operation of CCTV systems and investigation of theft, fraud and non‑compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Investigation
* Monitor CCTV to support loss reduction and enforce preventative measures
* Review CCTV for high‑value or notable items escalated as lost within the network
* Report CCTV findings to the relevant Regional Security Manager in a structured and documented manner
* Prepare evidential packs suitable for prosecution cases in collaboration with Regional Security Managers and police
* Produce witness statements, exhibits and CCTV downloads to support prosecution of offenders
* Attend court when necessary and provide witness testimony regarding CCTV evidence
Compliance
* Escalate poor processes identified during CCTV reviews to the necessary managers
* Monitor and review security searches (person/vehicle) conducted by depot staff, compiling summary reports for management scrutiny
* Support Quality Audit Managers and Regional Security Managers in reviewing operational and security process compliance
* Provide footage to assist training in security, transport and health and safety
Risk and Alarm Monitoring
* Report security incidents or suspicious behaviour and Escalate to the relevant Regional Security Manager
* Monitor and respond to intruder alarms during depot lockdowns
* Monitor and respond to access control alarms and unauthorised access events, providing information to the Regional Security Manager and reporting on non‑compliance
* Review depot lockdown processes on CCTV, ensuring agreed procedures are followed correctly
* Consolidate and monitor potential areas of risk, preparing reports to justify change
Network Support
* Assist with planning of new depot CCTV installation, highlighting lessons learned and shortfalls of the existing system
* Identify trends, understand analytical products, and report the same to management
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive knowledge and experience of operating CCTV systems
* Proven ability to conduct CCTV operations and investigations independently
* Experience producing evidential reports, witness statements and exhibits to support police investigations
* Excellent time management, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
* Strong team player with a flexible approach to work and a willingness to support DPD core values
* Previous knowledge or experience of the logistics or parcel delivery industry (preferred)
* Good knowledge of Criminal Law and Employment Law, including evidential standards required for prosecutions, and knowledge of GDPR (advantageous)
* Valid SIA CCTV Operators Licence (advantageous)
* Prepared to create management information for presentations and dissemination
