Salary & Benefits
Starting salary of £45,000, which can increase to £49,000 once all training is completed. Typical overtime shifts at premium rates estimate an additional £3,500. Refer a friend and receive £500.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified RN Adult, RMN (with dual registration), RGN, or paramedic.
* Minimum of 12 months prior Custody experience and 3 years post‑qualification experience in General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Walk‑in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, Mental Health, or Ambulance Service as an Adult RN.
* 3 years UK residency.
* Current manual driving license with no restrictions to enable occasional travel to other custody suites or local hospitals.
* All candidates are subject to police vetting checks.
Role Responsibilities
Your main responsibility will be to lead a team of HCPs, providing detained individuals with accurate assessments and ensuring their care and wellbeing needs are met. You will review rota gaps and cover as needed. You will supervise and appraise the HCPs, working as part of an integrated team with the Clinical Lead and Lead Senior to ensure local processes follow National Clinical Governance Standards and Forces specific needs.
Training and Development
* Appraisal and performance management training.
* Bespoke “Leading Together” management training course.
* FFLM Licentiate in General Forensic Medicine Part 1 and 2 within five years of recruitment.
* UKAFN ASET in Forensic Practice within three years of recruitment.
* Examined mental health and substance misuse training.
