The GM Digital Transformation Team
The team comprises digital transformation and project management professionals with technical expertise. They collaborate with ten local authorities and other partners to manage pan-GM digital transformation programs, projects, and products.

The Role
We are seeking a User Researcher to join the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. You will ensure our services meet user needs by leading extensive research into how users interact with our services.
Your responsibilities include conducting research to understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations, and designing activities such as usability testing, surveys, ethnographic studies, card sorting, and interviews. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research insights into actionable improvements. Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are essential.
We value passion for creating accessible digital public services that are simple and user-friendly. Familiarity with the Government Digital Service Manual, GDS Design System, and UK Government Technology Code of Practice is required.

* Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative user research in digital services.
* Ability to design and facilitate various research methods such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, and workshops.
* Strong skills in analyzing research data and synthesizing insights into clear recommendations.
* Effective communication skills to present findings and influence service design.
* A deep curiosity about user behavior and a commitment to championing user needs throughout product development.
