Overview

Head of Housekeeping – Hilton Grand Vacations, Thurnham Hall, Thurnham, Lancaster, LA2 0DT. 40 hours per week. Salary: £13.50 per hour.

Reporting to the Resort Manager, the Head of Housekeeping leads the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities

* Fully understand brand standards as they relate to your department and develop training for team members; ensure PDS benchmarks are achieved
* Complete relevant staff forms, including holiday requisitions, sick leave, and leavers
* Keep the department motivated and morale high
* Prepare rosters, manage sickness/holiday cover, and provide a weekly rota copy to the Resort Manager
* Update daily tasks and record the previous day’s events in a morning roll call
* Ensure day-to-day cleanliness of all communal areas
* Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are available to the team
* Carry out monthly stock checks for laundry, consumables, and inventory items
* Liaise with the maintenance manager regarding in-house work required
* Operate the department with consideration for sustainability goals
* Embrace guest feedback, review operational changes needed, and share areas for improvement and service excellence with the team
* Maintain a hands-on role within the department as required
* Keep the department in line with Health & Safety requirements and carry out weekly and monthly checks
* Order materials using purchase requisitions and ensure correct coding
* Attend weekly Head of Department meetings
* In the absence of the Resort Manager, act as Duty Manager if called upon


Skills and Experience

* Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is essential
* Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
* Must be computer literate
* Demonstrable motivation and negotiation skills would be advantageous
* Strong administrative skills


Employment details

* Hours: 40 per week, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rotating shift basis
* Location: Thurnham Hall, Thurnham, Lancaster
* Salary: £13.50 per hour
* Own transport is required due to the location
