Our client, a highly respected Special Educational Needs school, is currently seeking compassionate and skilled Medical Teaching Assistants to join their dedicated team. The school supports children and young people aged 2-19 years with a range of complex medical, physical, and learning needs, including severe and profound learning difficulties, medical fragility, sensory impairments, and life-limiting conditions. As a Medical Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the educational and health-related needs of pupils. You will work closely with class teachers, medical professionals, and therapists to ensure each pupil receives high-quality care and learning experiences tailored to their individual requirements. This role is ideally suited for individuals with experience in health, social care, or education settings, particularly those who have supported children or young adults with complex medical conditions and additional learning needs. Key Details: Location: Bournemouth, Dorset Position: Medical Teaching Assistant (SEN) Type of Work: Supporting pupils with complex health and learning needs Start Date: September 2025 (possibly sooner) Contract Type: Temporary/Permanent Full-time: 30 hours per week Minimum Rate of Pay: From £13.96 per hour Requirements: Previous experience in a healthcare, SEN, or social care setting, ideally with children or young people with complex medical needs. Confidence in supporting medical interventions (training will be provided if required), including gastrostomy feeding, tracheostomy care, and seizure management. High levels of empathy, patience, and emotional resilience. A strong team ethic and proactive approach to adapting care and learning strategies. Willingness to provide personal care and undertake health-related responsibilities. Eligibility: Right to Work in the UK.
