Your new role
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Housing Officer to join our team, managing a portfolio of properties and supporting tenants across a designated area. You will play a key role in delivering an intensive housing management service to a core group of service users, ensuring their tenancies are sustained, properties remain safe andpliant, and all organisational and statutory requirements are met. This is a highly rewarding role where you will make a meaningful impact on individuals’ housing stability and overall wellbeing.
In this role, you will provide direct support to tenants to help them successfully manage their tenancies, assisting with housing benefit claims and linking them with appropriate support services where needed. You will undertake initial and regular assessments of service users, including risk assessments, to ensure eligibility and identify support needs.Working closely with the Housing Management Team, you will issue tenancies,plete sign‑ups, and ensure tenants fully understand their responsibilities. You will also be involved in ordering furniture and essential goods for properties and will collaborate with the Asset Management Team to maintain property standards, ensure repairs are reported promptly, and confirm homes are safe,pliant, and ready to let. Maximising rent collection and adhering to arrears management procedures will also form an essential part of your role.
What you'll need to succeed
You will uphold the highest professional standards, treating all service users with dignity and respect. You will work in partnership with the wider Housing Management team to ensurepliance with voids and arrears targets, tenancy law, and internal housing policies. Building positive relationships with localmunities, neighbours, and landlords is key, as is working collaboratively with internal teams across Quality, Policy, HR, Finance, and IT to deliver an excellent service.You may occasionally deputise for the Area Manager and take the lead on specific portfolio responsibilities. Flexibility is essential, and you may be required to work across more than one area when needed.You will also need to have a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle for this role.
