About the role
This is a new role within the treasury team and offers a great opportunity to contribute to Argenta's investment and treasury function whilst gaining valuable experience within the Lloyd's market. The role will support the group treasurer in managing the syndicates and group entities investment and treasury day to day cash management, record-keeping, monitoring and providing financial reports to senior management/regulators/auditors to ensure it fulfils its regulatory requirements and assists with important business decisions. At a personal level it will provide the chance to develop financial expertise, enhance leadership skills and prepare for a future Group Treasurer position.
As the Deputy Group Treasurer your key responsibilities will involve
* Assist the Group Treasurer in preparing quarterly investment reports for the Finance and Investment committee and other ad hoc management information and analysis in relation to the managing agency's managed syndicates.
* Oversee the opening/closing syndicate and Group bank accounts and updating and advising relevant third parties of changes in authorised signatory/trustee mandates.
* Assist with currency asset/liability matching and execute currency purchases, sales and forward contracts ensuring settlement of these deals.
* Support the Group Treasurer in managing outsourced arrangements with banks, custodians, rating agencies, Lloyd's treasury, appointed investment managers and consultants to ensure information is received in a timely basis and accurate.
* To liaise with the syndicate and Group auditors as necessary.
* To review daily/monthly cash flow forecasts and produce monthly cash/investment KPIs with commentary for the risk and compliance teams.
* To oversee the reconciliation process of the investment data held in the investment accounting system (Clearwater) each month.
* To oversee the production/updating of all relevant Lloyd's investment related submissions and reporting to Hannover Re as necessary.
* To facilitate data provision to Hannover Re in relation to investments on a timely basis.
* To develop and embed investment related ESG requirements with regards to integration into the investment strategy and investment manager agreements, risk management, policy development, monitoring and reporting and stakeholder management.
* To oversee the production of the asset data for the internal model, undertake self-assessed risk analysis and assist the Group Treasurer in providing the investment commentary & yields for the Report & Accounts.
* To oversee the development of the Treasury analyst/assistant.
* Undertake any other related duties as may be reasonably required.

Skills & Experience
* Proven London Market experience of investment accounting and regulatory/Lloyd's reporting requirements, unlikely to be less than five years.
* Qualified accountant or ACT qualified.
* Thorough knowledge of Treasury management and investment accounting.
* Sound understanding of the regulatory/statutory reporting requirements.
* Knowledge of FCA handbook.
* Able to perform effectively under pressure and be able to prioritise workload and targets to ensure regular tight deadlines are met.
* Capable of developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels.
* Competent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Competency in use of office IT applications.
* Self-driven, organised and can demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
* Ability to support process improvement and increase efficiencies, continually looking for opportunities to add value and working with the wider team and management to deliver positive change.

About the team
The team above sits within a wider Argenta finance team of about thirty people, most of whom are located in London. The wider team focusses on group reporting to Hannover Re, corporate reporting internally and externally, Asia-Pac service company financial management and finance projects.
