Position: Prep School Early Years Teaching Assistant
Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA
Hours: This is a part-time position working 27.5 hours a week, 12:30pm – 6:00pm Monday – Friday
The closing date for this position will be Monday 21st July at 8:00AM
Interviews will be taking place Tuesday 29th July

We are looking for an organised and dynamic Prep School EYFS Teaching Assistant to join and support our Prep school.
Key responsibilities include:
•Daily pastoral care: oversee the wellbeing and pastoral care of all pupils in the pre-Reception class, adhering closely to the Prep School’s behaviour policy and restorative approach.
•Planning: Under the guidance of the EYFS coordinator input into weekly, medium- and long-term planning in order to ensure that the EYFS curriculum is covered.
•To exercise a duty of care to promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils and contribute to the maintenance of a safe and secure school environment.
•Liaise with the DDSL and Assistant Head (Pastoral) should there be any concerns regarding the welfare or wellbeing of pupils in their teaching groups, using the appropriate channels including logging concerns on ISAMs or CPOMs as appropriate.
•To encourage positive behaviour through following the Prep School’s rewards initiatives including House Points and Gold Leaf Awards for Aspiration, Courtesy, Curiosity and Courage.
•Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of pupils with special needs and facilitate their work accordingly liaising closely with the Prep School SENDCo.
•Track and assess pupil’s development through age-appropriate testing and liaising with the EYFS coordinator and SENDCo. Ensuring pupil’s development is supported and extended as appropriate.
The successful candidate must hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification specialising in the Early Years. Experience of working with EYFS children is ideal but not essential and newly qualified candidates are welcome to apply. However, a love and passion for working in the Early Years is essential!
