Overview
Senior Process Operator position based in the Yorkshire region, covering sites in York and surrounding areas. Permanent role in the Process & Pumping department. 37 hours per week with standby rota requirements as per current arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Operate, maintain, and optimise wastewater treatment and phosphorus removal assets, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
* Carry out routine operations, sampling, reporting, data analysis and basic maintenance checks to prevent failures.
* Manage and prioritise workload according to available resource.
* Provide operational support on phosphorus removal assets as required for standby and absence cover within the team.
* Handle administrative duties including job conversions, raising purchase orders, and supporting resource planning and team hubs.
* Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Health and Safety procedures and managing contractors via Control of Work; induct visitors and mitigate or resolve hazards as they arise.
What You Will Need
* Experience with wastewater treatment and phosphorus removal assets, with the ability to learn technical processes, problem-solve and drive process improvements.
* Willingness to learn about phosphorus removal processes; enthusiasm for developing within the role.
* Structured with a mix of technical, analytical, administrative and manual duties; attention to detail to ensure right-first-time performance; ability to work independently and as part of a team and to develop internal and external relationships.
* Ability to carry out occasional work in confined spaces and pass required medical criteria (BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, spirometry) as part of pre-employment medicals for safety in hazardous environments.
* Knowledge and/or experience of wastewater treatment is advantageous.
* CABWI/NVQ/BTEC Level 2/3 in wastewater treatment is desirable.
* Driving licence: B+E category for towing is a plus.
