About New Beginnings
New Beginnings aims to create welcoming, non-judgemental environments and spaces, online and in-person, that nurture a sound and authentic experience of Islam for those who are either converts to Islam, including their families, or interested in converting. As well as to provide education and information regarding Islam and wellbeing services to the previously mentioned groups.
New Beginnings was formed in 2019 and formally launched on 23 April 2020 after recognising the need to provide support, companionship, and education, primarily for those who have adopted the religion of Islam after having no faith or a previous faith.
We strive to meet these needs in a way that truly appreciates a person's circumstances, whilst understanding the importance of preserving one's individual and cultural identity.
New Beginnings registered as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) on 6 August 2021. As the CIO is a separate legal entity it will enter into contracts, hold property and employ staff itself. Consequently, it is the organisation rather than the trustees that will be liable for any liabilities arising from such arrangements. Trustees will have management responsibility and be liable for breaches of trust and for fraudulent/wrongful trading.
