The Information Security Division provides strategic ownership and leadership of the information security posture for the University. The Division helps College and Support Group staff identify and mitigate internal and external threats to IT facilities and business critical information and is responsible for providing advice on strategic current and emerging information security threats. We provide risk based advice to key strategic change activity being undertaken across the University to ensure that required controls are identified, costed and resourced to ensure that the information security risk profile of the University is not adversely impacted.
We own, manage and develop the University's information security governance framework, including the policies, procedures and control measures needed to ensure that the University's risk appetite is maintained. Management reporting is driven through the University information governance structure, with the Division being responsible for pan-University information security working groups and oversight of related information security activity.
We work in conjunction with internal departments and external stakeholders to increase user awareness and understanding of the information security threat landscape and help identify appropriate countermeasures. We undertake ongoing reviews of available training and awareness methods to provide effective, engaging and timely learning options.
