Tendring PCN has an opportunity for a medical secretary to join the team at Mayflower Medical Centre on a fixed term contract until the end of March 2027. This role will be offered on a full-time basis. Medical secretaries play an important role in managing patient information and ensuring that healthcare providers have access to the data they need to deliver high-quality care. The main responsibilities of the role include: Providing a full secretarial service including the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, meeting minutes etc. Handling queries regarding hospital appointments and treatments. Ensuring that any requests for information are appropriately dealt with and that all subsequent charges are invoiced appropriately. Arranging meetings as required. Designing template letters and forms for use throughout the practice. Maintaining the clinical system, in an accurate and secure manner. Assisting with the gathering of statistics and information. About the Candidate We would welcome applications from those with the following skills and experience: Experience working within healthcare desirable. Audio- and touch-typing skills. Strong administrative experience and good organisation skills. Sound knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent general IT skills including MS Office and experience of working with a clinical system. Excellent communication skills. Understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality and data security, at all times. Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
