CFW Audit and Quality Assurance Officer

We’re looking for a CFW Auditor and quality assurance officer to help us strengthen practice and improve outcomes for children, young people and their families across Lancashire. About the role
As a CFW Auditor and quality assurance officer, you’ll deliver high-quality qualitative audits and wider quality assurance activity within the Child and Family Wellbeing (CFW) service. You’ll identify strengths, highlight risk, and translate learning into practical improvement—supporting teams to develop, embed strong management oversight, and enhance outcomes.
You’ll also produce clear reports and present findings to a range of audiences, contributing to themed and multi-agency audit work where required.
What you’ll be doing
1. Completing qualitative audits of practice and outcomes, identifying good practice and areas for development
2. Moderating audits to assure quality, consistency and accuracy, providing constructive feedback
3. Leading and supporting thematic and multi-agency audit activity as priorities emerge
4. Analysing findings, producing insightful reports, and presenting learning to managers and practitioners
5. Supporting improvement through action planning, reflective discussions and practice development
6. Contributing to and refining audit tools, guidance and training
What we’re looking for
We’re interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
7. A Level 6 qualification in a relevant subject or substantial (minimum 3 years) vocational experience in children’s services
8. At least 3 years’ recent experience supporting children, young people and families
9. Experience of quality assurance/audit activity and an ability to evaluate practice against standards and frameworks
10. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, thresholds and risk, and confidence applying procedures appropriately
11. Excellent analysis, report writing and presentation skills (including presenting virtually)
12. The ability to provide appropriate challenge and supportive feedback to colleagues at all levels
13. Good IT skills (including MS Office/Excel) and confidence using systems to collate and analyse information
