Summary
The Clinical Program Coordinator works in cooperation with Program Directors, other Coordinators, and external partners to prepare and place students in approved facilities for their clinical rotations. Summary
The Clinical Program Coordinator works in cooperation with Program Directors, other Coordinators, and external partners to prepare and place students in approved facilities for their clinical rotations. They will collaborate with the other members of the clinical and Pre-Licensure team ensuring all requirements have been met, process clinical sites for students, and develop relationships with external partners to maintain sufficient clinical sites across all programs. Use multiple platforms and databases to complete this work and keep accurate records in real time.
Functions
Clinical Placement Program Coordination :
* Collaborate with program directors and other program coordinators as needed to help secure and approve appropriate clinical placement sites.
* Prospect to seek to expand clinical placement resources.
* Manage communication with clinical agency liaisons, students, and program directors.
* Maintain positive relationships with clinical agency liaisons for future clinical placement needs.
* Maintain open lines of communication with students, course coordinators, course and clinical faculty, clinical programs, and assistant/associate deans.
* Keep accurate records of all students, faculty, and clinical site constituents in a format easily reported out to School of Nursing leadership on a recurring basis.
* Track clinical placement data for local and national accreditors and reports.
* Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts; effectively interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
Faculty Coordination
* Manage clinical site and student data.
* Update and maintain comprehensive contact lists of Clinical Faculty.
Student Coordination
* Coordinate all aspects of nursing students’ clinical placements and contracts; communicate clinical placement opportunities and requirements to students.
* Ensure students are appropriately immunized for clinical placements and are pre-screened and uploaded in Castle Branch.
* Enter, manage requests and confirm clinical placements with centralized clinical placement systems.
* Create, maintain, organize and prepare student records for clinical placements sites and for internal directors and/or coordinators in addition to external agencies, as required.
Meetings/Events Coordination
* Rotate with other clinical coordinators and attend Centralized Clinical Placement (CCP) meetings held at major healthcare provider sites with clinical placement coordinators from other New England Colleges.
Other Responsibilities
* Exercise independent judgment and discretion to plan and prioritize work to meet department/school/college goals and deadlines.
* Provide administrative team support.
* Perform other related duties as required.
* Adhere to established policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Requirements
* Duties require knowledge of administrative skills equivalent to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Extensive MS Office experiences including Word, Excel, Outlook with ability and desire to learn and utilize new and/or update computer programs.
* Expertise with Zoom, synchronous online meeting platforms.
* Documented experience in leadership and practicum placement a plus.
* Excellent organizational skills; demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks; consistently meet deadlines; and work independently while paying attention to details
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to establish positive public relations for the college; and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
* The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Knowledge of business English, grammatical construction, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary and the ability to compose routines letters.
* Ability to positively interact with a diverse population and uphold the College’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
* Willingness to learn and use multiple platforms and technologies.
* Ability to learn and implement office procedures related to nursing policies, rules, and procedures.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
* Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
* May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
* Frequent interruptions to assist students, staff and faculty.
