Overview
Join a team that delivers complex transportation projects, leading the technical delivery of railway and light rail projects.
Your role
* Provide technical leadership of major transportation projects and programmes.
* Lead, supervise and prepare engineering design packages for all types of rail and light rail projects through the full lifecycle.
* Manage engineering budgets and programmes to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
* Act as Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) on a range of projects.
* Lead CSM/CDM requirements.
* Create a cohesive design team including local, national & international resources.
* Coordinate cross‑discipline interfaces to ensure successful delivery.
* Apply systems thinking and engineering approaches for delivery assurance.
* Build and maintain close working relationships with clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, design & build contractors and others.
* Prepare pre‑qualification responses, proposals and tenders.
* Grow the Engineering Management workbank and seek new opportunities.
About You
* Proven experience delivering multi‑disciplinary railway and/or light rail design and construction projects.
* Proven technical management experience, including acting as CEM.
* Degree in engineering or related numerate discipline.
* Chartered or Incorporated status in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering.
* Comprehensive understanding of UK rail safety, standards and regulations.
* Track record of growing and maintaining a workbank.
* Experience leading technical responses to pre‑qualification, proposals and tenders with pricing.
* Ability to mentor and support junior colleagues in technical design excellence.
