We are recruiting an Operations Manager to join an impressive company that designs, supplies, installs and maintains a comprehensive range of integrated technology systems to help make the world a safer place. From CCTV to Lighting, Entertainment to Access Control, Alarms to AV, they cater for and tailor our services for both domestic and commercial clients.
What you will do:
Engineering/Project Management
* Manage the Contract Managers to ensure that, where possible, all installation & commissioning dates are met/Additionally
* Ensure that the department runs smoothly to make sure that customer needs and issues are dealt with promptly.
* Seek opportunities to generate new business sales from new or existing customers and seek to cross-sell.
* Seek to build customer relations to positively position the business to retain them and ensure their annual renewal for maintenance.
* Gather management information, review this and present engineering performance reviews & department development plans as part of the senior management team on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis as required.
* Take a longer-term view of the work ahead in order to implement effective plans to deliver.
* Review timesheets to verify their accuracy, monitoring productivity levels and allocation of time for jobs undertaken to maximise efficiency and ensure jobs are brought in on target (time, cost, quality).
* Seek to make continuous improvements to aid process efficiency and effectiveness.
Service Co-ordination Management
* Engage with the Service Manager to ensure that all maintenance targets are met including service call response times adhered to consistently, maintenance visits completed within timescales.
Service, Maintenance and Installation & Commissioning Engineering
* Ensure the engineers have the relevant training, tools, equipment and information to undertake the tasks assigned. For service (fault descriptions etc) and for commissioning; site drawings, specification etc.
* Ensure that a project lead is allocated with overall responsibility to ensure close-out of jobs according to requirements.
Health and Safety
* Ensure adherence to the H&S Systems including all policies and procedures.
* Ensure site specific risks assessments are completed and any corrective actions addressed/close out.
* Monitor training needs to ensure compliance with statutory related requirements.
Employee Management, Performance and Development
* Oversee the recruitment of new engineering staff and ensure that new employees receive an effective induction with the department.
* Carry out staff appraisals and support the continuous development of the team. Ensure staff have clear direction on what needs to be done, how and by when (including the performance standards) and provide regular feedback (positive and constructive) to help maximise a high-performing team.
* Participate fully in the performance management system and take personal responsibility for your personal development.
