BPA Recruitment are working with a number of established London Accountants for the hiring of this position.
We are seeking a skilled Trust Assistant Manager/Manager to become a key member of our clients specialist Trust Team, supporting the accounting, administration, and tax affairs of a diverse range of UK resident trusts. The work is varied, technical, and high quality, with opportunities for a Trust Assistant Manager/Manager to broaden their experience into non-UK resident trusts, estates, and personal tax compliance and advisory work.
As a Trust Assistant Manager/Manager, you will take responsibility for a mixed portfolio of trust clients, overseeing annual compliance requirements and contributing to the delivery of advisory projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge who is looking to take ownership of client relationships while playing an active part in the development of junior colleagues.
Main Duties
Manage a varied portfolio of UK resident trust clients, including trust accounts and self-assessment tax returns
Assist senior colleagues with advisory assignments, including reports on IHT planning, succession planning, wealth preservation, and trust restructuring
Prepare for and attend meetings with existing clients and prospective new clients
Liaise with clients, co-professionals, and HMRC, ensuring timely handling of all correspondence
Organise and prioritise your workload to deliver high-quality client care and meet all relevant deadlines
Support, mentor, and review the work of junior staff members as part of their ongoing development
Undertake additional duties as reasonably required
Equipment Used
Familiarity with CCH Trust Accounts and CCH Personal Tax would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
Qualifications / Experience Required
ACA, CTA, or STEP qualified
Typically 35 years experience within a private client or trust-focused department in an accountancy or legal practice
Experience in trust accounting and tax reporting essential
Exposure to family offices, landed estates, or high-net-worth clients beneficial but not essential
