Offer description

Receptionist required for a busy, friendly doctors' surgery in Edgware.

Hours of work: -

Monday - Friday 2pm - 7pm

25 hours per week, but you may be asked to do additional hours to cover absence.

Pay is £12.21 per hour.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to start as soon as possible. When applying, please state your notice period with your current employer.


Main duties of the job

* Answer general enquiries in person and over the phone.
* Process repeat prescription requests.
* Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and visitors.
* Book transport when needed.
* Ensure reception and waiting areas are neat and tidy.
* Familiarity with all appointment systems in effect.
* Book appointments and recalls.
* Answer external and internal telephones promptly.
* Make and receive calls; divert calls and take messages as appropriate.
* Ensure the system is operational at the start of the day.
* Receive and accurately record messages for GPs, nurses, and staff.
* Deal with patient requests for test results.
* Manage medical records.
* Manage documentation.
* Act as chaperone when required.
* Attend training organized by the Practice Manager.
* Attend meetings as necessary.
* Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade.

* Compliance with Information Governance, Data Security, and other protocols


Person Specification


Location

* Lives in the Edgware area


Experience

* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Minimum 1 year experience as a medical receptionist
