The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College which is located in the British Virgin Islands (“the BVI”) is seeking an exceptional full-time English Lecturer to teach in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Lecturer must be able to comfortably instruct in the following courses: Courses English Composition I and II Effective Business Writing Technical Report Writing Speech Communication Elements of Literature Shakespeare and Other Authors Selected Topics I and II Literary Theory Advanced Literature Courses Duties and Responsibilities Perform instructional related responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, vision, policies and procedures of the College; Provide a quality learning experience for all students; Teach five courses (15-17 credit hours) per semester; Teach day, evening, weekend and/or online courses at assigned campus/centre. May be assigned to teach courses at more than one location; Serve as an academic advisor to students Assist in the marketing of the Department's programmes and recruitment of students; Actively participate in Department or College Committees. Qualifications and Experience An earned doctoral degree in relevant discipline from an accredited or recognized institution and less than three (3) of teaching experience at the tertiary level. A master’s degree in relevant discipline or its equivalent from an accredited or recognized institution and minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at the tertiary level.
