Overview
This is an exciting and challenging time for the University of Sheffield. The HR Adviser (OD) role is based in the Staff Wellbeing Team but works closely with colleagues across People Development, EDI, Staff Engagement, Policy & Recruitment and Reward Teams. The position supports a disability- and neuro-inclusive working environment and contributes to the university’s strategic wellbeing agenda.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide expert advice, guidance and support to HR colleagues and managers on all matters relating to Wellbeing and the Wellbeing Services offer.
* Work closely with and support the Wellbeing Services, including: triage of referrals, coordinating counselling referrals to external provider, and signposting to specialist resources.
* Manage the Central Reasonable Adjustment process and coordinate Access to Work application outcomes, providing liaison and guidance as required.
* Produce management information and data to inform continuous improvement of Wellbeing Services and Faculty/School action planning.
* Undertake project work specific to the Wellbeing team that contributes broadly to the university, broadening understanding of the organisation and developing a wider HR skill set.
* Adopt a business-focused, pragmatic and solution-focused approach that delivers positive outcomes for the organisation.
* Carry out other duties commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
Person Specification
* Demonstrable knowledge of disability, wellbeing and neuro-inclusive practices in a workplace context.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Pragmatic problem-solving abilities across a wide range of issues with competing priorities.
* Proven IT skills, including Google Workspace, MS Office and experience of data analysis/reporting.
* Strong project planning and organisational skills with the ability to reprioritise when required.
* Experience of working effectively within and across diverse teams, influencing and collaborating to achieve business objectives.
* Knowledge and ability to work within GDPR, exercising tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
* Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) in relevant themes; willingness to share knowledge with colleagues.
* Desirable: CIPD membership or pursuit of membership.
* Desirable: Experience in a generalist HR role and application of HR processes and practices.
Salary and Work Arrangement
* Grade: 6
* Salary: £32,080 - £36,636 per annum
