About the Role We are seeking a proactive and versatile HR Generalist to join the group. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning of HR processes, acting as a first point of contact for HR queries, supporting employee relations, and assisting with compliance and policy implementation. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining smooth day-to-day operations while promoting a safe and compliant environment. Key Objectives Provide advice, guidance and support to managers and employees on company policies, employment law and best practice Support in drafting and issuing employee communications (e.g., contract changes, probation letters) Support managers with performance reviews and probation tracking Support Senior Leadership Team with any administrative duties Maintain accurate and upto-date employee records in HRIS system Track and manage absences, holiday requests, and leave balances Ensure compliance with data protection and internal HR policies Assist with policy updates and implementation Coordinate HR meetings, training sessions, and events Maintain training records and monitor mandatory training completion Assist in onboarding and offboarding logistics including background checks, welcome packs, induction schedules and exit interviews, ensuring a smooth employee lifecycle Prepare HR reports and dashboards in metrics such as turnover, absence, and diversity Contribute to data-driven insights for continuous improvement Collate monthly payroll data (e.g., new starters, leavers, absences) Manage employee enrolment and changes in benefit schemes Liaise with benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely updates Provide clear communication to employees about benefit options, eligibility, and changes Support HR and recruitment initiatives (e.g., engagement surveys and employee recognition programs) Assist with diversity and inclusion wellbeing activities Monitor and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations Liaise with external health and safety regulators and consultants as needed Carry out any other HR duties as required by the Senior HR Manager or Talent Acquisition Manager Requirements Understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices Experience in a HR role, ideally in a generalist or coordinator capacity Experience working with HR systems (HRIS) and employee databases Previous involvement in onboarding, employee relation support, or HR documentation Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail Confident communication skills – both written and verbal Discretion and professionalism when dealing with sensitive and confidential information Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks and small projects Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field or CIPD Level 5 Soft Skills Able to convey information clearly and sensitively across all levels of the organisation Demonstrate empathy, active listening, and understanding in employee interactions Trusted to act ethically and professionally in all HR matters Approaches challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset Able to mediate conflict and offer practical HR resolutions Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment and shifting priorities Open to learning and improving processes Supports a positive and inclusive team culture Ensures employee satisfaction and engagement through helpful, respectful interactions Additional Information Successful candidates will go through and obtain security clearance This role is based in our Liverpool HQ in the North West of England This role will be office based during probation period, with the option to work from home 2 days per week on successful completion Security Clearance Requirements Please note that holding current SC clearance is not essential at the point application, but eligibility is required. This role required the successful candidate to be eligible for Security Check (SC) Clearance. Our interview process is tailored to each role but typically the first half of the process is run remotely with a final stage on-site. For this position, you can expect a two-stage interview process: 1st stage - An informal 30-minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the role and ask any questions. 2nd Stag e – A 60-minute formal interview on-site where you can expect both competency and technical questions.
