About the Role
Morgan McKinley are working in partnership with a leading Law Firm who are looking to hire a talented & driven Business Development Manager to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of the Media, Technology, and Intellectual Property practice groups.
Reporting into the Senior Business Development Manager and working closely with senior Partners and Lawyers, you will provide both strategic advisory and hands-on operational support. You’ll be integral in identifying growth opportunities, developing client relationships, supporting pitches and proposals, and driving forward key marketing and BD initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a strategic adviser to Partners across the MTIP sectors, shaping and executing business development plans.
* Lead on the development of client-targeting strategies, sector campaigns and thought leadership initiatives.
* Coordinate and support on pitch and proposal submissions, ensuring consistency and high-quality output.
* Analyse market trends and client data to identify opportunities for cross-selling and revenue growth.
* Collaborate with the wider Marketing and BD team to deliver events, communications, and profile-raising activities.
* Provide mentoring and support to junior team members as appropriate.
About You
* Proven experience in a Business Development role within a law firm or professional services environment.
* A strong understanding of the legal industry, ideally with exposure to media, tech, or IP sectors.
* Comfortable operating at both strategic and tactical levels – able to influence senior stakeholders while executing deliverables.
* Excellent communication and project management skills.
* Proactive, adaptable, and commercially minded.
