Vox have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Plumber to join the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account at HMP Hewell, B97 6QQ. This is a site-based position.
This role supports His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient prison environments. By applying your facilities management and plumbing expertise, you will help ensure the smooth running of secure premises.
As a Plumber, you will play a key role in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and on time.
Working hours: 39 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out routine and non-routine maintenance tasks.
2. Identify and resolve faults, including replacing life-expired equipment.
3. Perform inspections, water sampling, and risk assessments.
4. Undertake mains water supply repairs.
5. Minimise wastage and contribute to process improvements.
6. Ensure statutory and compliance works are completed within deadlines.
7. Work safely at height and in all weather conditions when required.
8. Maintain high standards of health and safety across all activities.

Prison Security Clearance will be required (full support will be provided throughout this process).
What We’re Looking For
9. Full UK driving licence
10. Appropriate trade qualification (Level 3)
11. Experience operating light plant and equipment
12. Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating with relevant maintenance experience (applications from candidates with NVQ Level 2 will also be considered)
Desirable
13. Legionella Control (L8) certification
14. Experience working in a commercial or facilities management environment
