The Events team within the Marketing and Communications Directorate is responsible for the delivery of recruitment events directed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, and for providing opportunities to underrepresented groups to access higher education.
Under the direction of the Events Team Leader and as a member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of customer focused, cost effective and efficient on campus events to influence potential students to make well informed choices regarding university and course choice, ultimately resulting in an application to the University of Plymouth.
You will work as part of team to support the organisation and delivery of a range of on campus events at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, such as open days, offer holder days, postgraduate open evenings and Clearing call centre. You will also be responsible for leading on the organisation of our University campus tours; both formal and ad hoc visits.
The Devon and Cornwall Children’s University is also overseen by this team. As part of your role, you will assist with the continued running and expansion of the project across the two counties, helping to plan and deliver assemblies and workshops, along with our graduation ceremonies and other related events.
You will develop and maintain a defined area of expertise in relation to student recruitment events, activities and initiatives whilst also developing and maintaining a breadth of skills to support flexible working across the wider team as required.
You will be required to liaise with colleagues across the University and build relationships with external stakeholders. There will also be the requirement to work evenings and weekends.

* Event Management experience is desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentational skills.

* Data analysis and reporting
* Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
* Ability to build good working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
* A driving licence or the ability to travel independently.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.
