Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Menopause Clinical nurse Specialist to join our gynaecology team to support and develop the menopause services across both Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury NHS Trusts.
You will be an experienced RGN and be able to lead and assess the work of the nursing team, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
Responsibilities
* Lead and assess the work of the nursing team, building upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
* Assist with the development and implementation of menopause clinics.
* Provide ongoing support and lifestyle advice to menopause patients on an out‑patient basis through one‑to‑one and group sessions where required.
* Undertake patient assessments, and nurse‑led clinics focusing on a holistic approach to menopause care.
* Manage patients with menopausal symptoms.
* Potentially facilitate menopause and menstrual health group sessions.
* Provide care through pre‑planned staff clinics within a SaTH.
* Plan and evaluate menopause care, including assessment, management, relevant clinical procedures, and overall planning.
Training and Professional Development
* Self‑directed and formal courses of study.
* Shadowing of experienced clinical specialists.
* Supervised practice.
* Competency assessment.
* Offer a holistic service to women.
* Provide education for patients in preventative healthcare.
* Ensure all statutory and mandatory training is complete and up to date.
Relocation
The Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of the Hospital Transformation Programme (HTP). Successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.
