Electronic and Electrical Support Engineer – Permanent
Location: Hertfordshire Area – Space and Defence
An Electronic and Electrical Support Engineer is needed within an Advanced Space and Defence Services Organisation. The role involves working on technical Space and Defence projects, shaping the future of Space and Defence Engineering.
The Electronic and Electrical Support Engineer will facilitate Space and Defence Engineering activities, requiring experience with Systems Assembly, Systems Integration, and System Testing. The engineer will collaborate with subject matter experts in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Note: Due to the nature of the products and platforms, this is a fully onsite role with no hybrid options.
Responsibilities include:
1. Design and specification support for systems (e.g., Electronic Propulsion, Radio Frequency, Central Systems)
2. Aligning designs with requirement engineering processes, considering customer-level requirements
3. Reviewing supplier documentation and generating RID during tender phases or formal reviews
4. Supporting major customer review processes
5. Producing technical documentation such as design reports, user manuals, and test procedures
6. Overseeing manufacturing processes, including procurement and managing production priorities
7. Validation and certification for system use
8. Providing first-level support for the systems facility, including hardware commissioning, procedure development, and training
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Degree in engineering, preferably with an electrical or electronics background
* Relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
* Strong industrial background related to Space and Defence is preferred
* Understanding of technical challenges in the field
* Hands-on engineering passion and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of Space and Defence Systems Engineering and Complex Platforms
* Experience in customer-facing roles and business development is advantageous
