We have an opportunity for a Marine Works Manager to join our Bristol based client on a full-time, permanent basis.\n\nThe Marine Works Manager is responsible for co-ordinating and supervising job/projects and the work of production staff, ensuring that all work is delivered safely on time and within budget along with managing equipment and materials required.\n\nTHE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT \n\nMinimum of 8 years’ experience in the marine or civil engineering industry.\n\nBe prepared and confident to travel, as required, for the overall gain of the business.\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nManaging Safely IOSH is preferred. \n\nMust have good demonstrable organisational skills.\n\nAble to interpret technical drawings, schematic parts manuals & diagrams, and technical data & specifications.\n\nMust have relevant management experience. \n\nMust be able to work as part of a team and be able to motivate staff.\n\nGood communication skills including spoken and written English and must be able to communicate sensitively, politely and clearly with staff, managers and suppliers.\n\nPositive outlook – approach colleagues, customers and tasks with a positive attitude always.
\n\nAble to demonstrate a good understanding of IT packages including Microsoft Word and Excel, the Internet and Email, and can adhere to Company IMS procedures as required. \n\nJOB DESCRIPTION\n\nManage jobs/projects and daily operations as directed, including supervising and monitoring the work undertaken by production staff and subcontractors, ensuring the required quality and safety standards are met whilst ensuring good time keeping and conduct of staff.\n\nTo prepare work/projects from viewing & quotation stage, monitor performance against hours, materials, consumables, equipment and subcontracted work quoted on a job/project to complete the job/project on time and on budget. \n\nAlways strive to achieve the best possible customer feedback to help ensure customer base remains loyal.\n\nTo be contactable via telephone and/or e-mail to suit the emergency/responsive nature of the Company’s core business and client base.\n\nSupport the General Manager in increasing new business/sales.\n\nSupport the General Manager in achieving the business unit’s annual budget/target.\n\nTo monitor levels of, and carry out the purchasing of consumables, plant and materials to support jobs/projects to ensure continuity of delivery without associated delay.\n\nMaking sure that all the aims and objectives of the jobs/project are met, as well as keeping in regular communication with the customer, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met.
\n\nEnsure standards of good housekeeping and organisation are achieved in all work areas at on site locations.\n\nTo travel to sites/customers to survey work and assist in the quotation process of any project deemed as required.\n\nTo ensure all jobs/projects have the relevant SHE and quality documentation prepared and implemented before working starts, and that these are read and understood by the team and safe working procedures are applied to all projects.\n\nTo ensure that any required lifetime quality records (LTQR’s) are completed, retained and collated to form quality packs upon job/project completion. \n\nIn addition to the responsibilities listed above, all employees must be flexible in their approach and undertake other duties that are commensurate with the post holder’s level, wherever they may be, to achieve the objectives of the Company.\n\nAligned and compliance with all company SHE regulations and policies.\n\nREMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER \n\nCompetitive salary plus benefits package
