Finance Assistant Role - York
Assisting with month‑end, quarterly and year‑end financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, KPIs and financial statements.
Maintaining accurate financial records and updating ledgers via journals.
Reconciling income and work‑in‑progress schedules and undertaking invoice project work.
Communicating with external and internal auditors.
Liaising with HR and outsourced payroll provider to ensure payroll accuracy. Preparing bonus, redundancy calculations, holiday accruals and maintaining a monthly reconciliation of SAGE 200 to payroll.
Responding to employee queries on all payroll matters.
Providing administrative support and processing transactions when required.
Assisting in the supervision of a finance apprentice.
Requirements
* Payroll and accounting experience with an AAT level 4 qualification preferred
* Advanced Excel skills (e.g., V‑lookup, SUMIF, pivot tables)
