The Opportunity
Are you an English Graduate or Qualified Teacher looking for a rewarding role in the Barrow area? We are seeking articulate, resilient, and confident individuals to join our team. This position is ideal for those who love literature and language and want to make a tangible impact on student progress within a classroom setting.
With a competitive pay bracket of £130-£200, we are looking for specialists who can bring high-level expertise and a passion for literacy to schools across Lancaster.
The Advantage of Supply & Specialist Roles
This role allows you to focus on what matters most: the interaction between teacher and student. By working as a specialist within the Lancaster community, you benefit from:
Resource Support: Many of our partner schools provide pre-set materials, allowing you to focus your energy on high-quality delivery and student engagement.
Flexible Commitments: Whether you are looking for a consistent 5-day-a-week placement or flexible days to balance with other professional projects, we have roles that suit your lifestyle.
Streamlined Focus: Minimize the time spent on administrative data entry and departmental meetings, focusing instead on the 60 minutes in front of the students.
Leadership in the Classroom
At this pay grade, we are looking for individuals who can command a room and drive academic curiosity:
Assertive Presence: You must be confident in managing behavior effectively, using a calm and authoritative approach to maintain a productive learning environment.
Literacy Impact: Use your communication skills to help students engage with complex texts and improve their analytical thinking.
Resilience: You'll need the "presence" to lead a classroom with confidence, ensuring respect and safety are maintained at all times.
Who We Are Looking For
A University Degree in English, Humanities, or a related field (QTS preferred, though experienced graduates are highly encouraged to apply).
High levels of confidence in managing group dynamics and student behaviour.
A reliable, professional approach and a genuine desire to work within the Lancaster community.
