Main duties of the job

We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide senior professional and operational leadership to our well-established ward teams on mountain ward and mountain HDU, and teams of highly specialised children's clinical nurse specialists. The post holder will be an integral part of the matron leadership team and will work closely with the Head of Nursing to deliver on key priorities for Evelina London nursing and the services provided. You will be responsible for providing visible leadership, knowledge and expertise. You must be committed to improving care provided to babies, children, and young people, as well as the experience of our staff providing the care.

The post-holder will be required to operationally manage components of the service and provide strategic direction for service development. This requires good project management through utilising a working knowledge of improvement methodologies, facilitation and negotiation skills, and a good attitude with a tenacious approach to delivery. Evidence of innovation and a commitment to clinical improvement projects that aim to both enhance service users’ experience and promote positive health outcomes is essential.

The post-holder will lead services to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care, ensuring that the care we provide 24/7 meets the standards we would wish for ourselves and our families. Improving the patient and family experience, with a holistic and family-centred focus, will be key to this role.
