Location: Remote with UK travel required (Progression to Business Development Director) Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) with strong solution design capability with ambition to progress into a Business Development Director role within 18 months. This is a key position within the business, responsible for developing new opportunities across the Defence sector, strengthening relationships with Primes, and helping shape tailored solutions for customers. You will play a central role in driving revenue, building strategic partnerships, and working closely with internal teams to deliver high-quality, value-led services. As Senior Business Development Manager, you will: * Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers across Defence Primes and MOD. * Develop and deliver a targeted business development strategy focused on engagement and revenue growth. * Develop a deep understanding of the company’s capabilities in order to design and propose effective client solutions. * Lead the end-to-end sales process, including proposal development and client presentations. * Represent the business at industry, networking, and social events. Experience: * Previous experience within Defence logistics and supply chain environments. * Background in solution design or a closely related function. * Experience facilitating customer-facing workshops. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scenarios clearly at all levels. * Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with confidence engaging new clients. * A strategic, forward-thinking mindset, with strong negotiation capability. * The credibility to operate effectively with senior stakeholders. * A background in The Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) or 10 years experience of selling into Defence/MOD would be advantageous. * Security Clearance to SC level will be required prior to starting. Security Clearance will be required for the role so candidates must have resided in the UK for at least three years to meet eligibility requirements
