We have a Cook/Chef vacancy in our beautiful small residential care home in Townhill, Dunfermline. We cater for 15 elderly clients. We work with 1 cook at present and looking for another to join our team. The position becoming available will be for set days on a 2 week rota, week 1 would be Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday and week 2 would be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Set hours of 8am - 5pm with an hour break.
5+ weeks paid annual leave per year, company pension scheme also available, uniforms supplied. PVG update required - paid for by candidate.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To organise and control the efficient and economic production of quality food and cater for specific dietary requirements, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with Health & Safety and Food Safe regulations.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Basic Food/ Hygiene Certificate Good communication skills Team player Ability to work on own initiative Satisfactory Police Check
Intermediate Food / Hygiene Certificate, Experience of Food Preparation for the relevant Client group
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Food Preparation Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, as and when Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual, you are responsible for your own kitchen which involves cleaning at the end of you shift.
Communication Liaise with the Home Manager and other chef/cook and residents when planning menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet.
Participate in Staff and Client meetings Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/ fridge Ensure stock rotation.
Assisting with the ordering stocks and check deliveries, Previous care home experience preferred.
