Accounts Payable Assistant - 6 month FTC
Onsite: 5 days in the office
Location: London
I am looking for a proactive Accounts Payable Assistant to join a growing Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the Accounts Payable function, managing the purchase ledger process from start to finish, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, and helping to drive improvements in processes and reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounts payable experience who wants to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
About the Role
I am looking for a proactive Accounts Payable Assistant to join a growing Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the Accounts Payable function, managing the purchase ledger process from start to finish, ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, and helping to drive improvements in processes and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Full ownership of the Accounts Payable ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Process weekly BACS payment runs
* Maintain and reconcile supplier accounts and ledgers
* Handle supplier queries promptly and professionally
* Liaise with procurement, including monitoring credit limits
* Manage company credit card distribution and processing
* Oversee the statement reconciliation register
* Prepare weekly cash flow reports for review
* Support Accounts Payable training and knowledge sharing across the team
What We’re Looking For
* 2+ years of experience in accounts payable
* Proven experience handling the full AP cycle (end-to-end)
* Strong Excel skills and confident working with financial data
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
* Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
