This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity until 31st March 2027 and has a starting salary of £47,142 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week. We have a great opportunity to join our CVD and Cancer Prevention team as a Public Health Lead (CVD)
We support hybrid working with the right balance. We come together in person for 2 days per week on average (40% of the working week) and support working from home the rest of the time.

About The Role
You will have a passion for improving the health of our population with a focus on reducing inequalities. A creative thinker and strong communicator, with good project and budget management skills you will have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in a fast-paced political environment.
This role will manage the NHS Health Check Programme, working closely with primary care colleagues and community pharmacy, managing, monitoring and reviewing over 100 Public Health Agreements delivering approximately 25,000 NHS Health Checks per year and will be responsible for a budget of £600k per annum. You will manage and analyse data recorded in Ardens Manager and Pharmoutcomes, ensuring this data is used to inform decisions related to CVD prevention.
As the council goes through local government reform you will prepare contracts for a smooth transition to the new unitary authorities.
You will represent Surrey at national, regional and local CVD prevention meetings, ensuring the NHS Health Check programme in Surrey is embedded into CVD and prevention pathways for example diabetes. You will lead on adult weight management working with partners to reduce the prevalence of obesity in Surrey as well as supporting the Public Health Programme Lead to manage the One You Surrey adult weight management contract. This role works extensively with partners to embed early prevention into CVD related pathways.
You will also support the Senior Public Health Lead in the delivery of Surrey's "Live Longer Better" action plan.
