Children’s Social Worker – Greater Manchester
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Children’s Social Worker to join a well-established Children’s Services team within a local authority in Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment focused on delivering positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
The Role
As a Children’s Social Worker, you will manage a varied caseload and undertake statutory responsibilities to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. You will work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to deliver effective interventions and ensure children receive the support they need.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete high‑quality assessments in line with statutory guidance.
* Manage a caseload including Children in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care.
* Develop and review care plans to support children and families.
* Work closely with multi‑agency partners including education, health and police.
* Prepare reports for court, reviews and case conferences.
* Ensure the voice of the child remains central to all decision‑making.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
* Previous experience within a local authority Children’s Services team.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks.
* Excellent assessment, communication and report writing skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
