The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer who is a highly experienced leader and exceptional mentor, the Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring robust financial reporting, compliance, and strategic insight. This is a pivotal role with oversight of budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and financial controls, as well as leadership of the finance and administration teams.
You'll be a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, capable of translating financial data into actionable insights and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly and annual statements
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax laws relevant to the automotive retail sector
Drive cash flow management and cost optimisation strategies
Provide strategic financial support to the senior leadership team
Oversee internal controls and financial procedures, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency
Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
Partner with the stocking loan administration team to optimise inventory financing and cashflow
About You
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles
Automotive retail experience is advantageous but not essential
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
Proficient in financial systems and ERP platforms
High attention to detail and commercial acumen
Salary and Benefits
A competitive salary of circa £75,000 - £90,0000pa plus bonus, alongside a collaborative working culture, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a real impact in a growing business.
