Systems Test Engineer – Digital Health + MedTech + Healthcare Sector
Location: Oxford (on-site 90%, with occasional remote flexibility)
Are you someone who enjoys understanding how systems work and making sure they work reliably?
Do you find satisfaction in digging into data, spotting inconsistencies, and helping technology perform at its best?
Looking for a hands-on role that brings together devices, software, and meaningful outcomes?
This might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
The Opportunity
We’re supporting a growing organisation working quietly at the intersection of health, data, and engineering. Their platform is already deployed in research settings worldwide, capturing vital information through smart, non-invasive systems.
As a Systems Test Engineer, you will ensure that this complex and high-impact platform runs as it should. That means digging into both hardware and software, developing practical testing approaches, and validating data accuracy to a high standard. You'll also work closely with a supportive team of engineers and scientists who value thoughtful problem-solving.
Why This Role Stands Out
* Take ownership of testing across integrated systems including hardware, software, and data
* Help shape how the team approaches test automation, defect management, and quality processes
* Contribute to validation efforts that benchmark product performance against clinical standards
* Gain exposure to a unique combination of IoT hardware and cloud-based tools
* Be part of a thoughtful and mission-driven team in a hands-on setting
What You’ll Bring (or Be Keen to Build On)
You’re probably from a technical background and enjoy working with systems that combine physical devices and software. You may have tested similar integrated products before, or you might bring experience from QA, support engineering, or early product development.
Skills and experience that would be useful:
* Designing and running system-level tests
* Managing bugs and contributing to the full development lifecycle
* Working in quality-sensitive or regulated environments
* Using Python or other scripting tools to automate or streamline checks
* Understanding how to validate data as well as functionality
But this isn’t a box-ticking exercise. If you’re excited by how complex systems work and enjoy problem-solving, we’d love to hear from you.
A Bit About the Team
This is an on-site role based in Oxford, with flexibility for occasional remote working. You’ll be working closely with a team that values care and rigour in what they build. There is a good balance between structure and flexibility, with a shared focus on doing high-quality work in a practical, friendly environment.
What’s on Offer
* A competitive salary that reflects your expertise
* Opportunities to learn and grow across software, hardware, and data systems
* Involvement in projects that contribute to clinical and research outcomes
* Exposure to emerging technologies in real-world settings
* A supportive and collaborative team culture
