Description Radio Frequency Engineer- Safety Location: We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel into an Arqiva site when required. Circa £42,000 base salary 6% pension contribution Private Medical 25 days annual leave Access to our comprehensive flexible benefits including discounts on big brands, wellness and employee assistance programmes, gymflex, buy and sell annual leave, travel and dental insurance Training provided to support City & Guilds certifications The role Responsible ensuring risks to health and safety from Electromagnetic Fields (radiofrequency) are fully understood, assessed and mitigated to prevent harm though a number of workstreams; Scheduling and undertaking ionising radiation surveys Responsible for undertaking RF surveys or for providing a clear specification for other internal or external resources to do so Carry out RF modelling where required. Ensure the output is clearly documented and can be understood by recipients both internally and externally Undertake RF feasibility assessments of new or changes to RF systems in line with Arqiva's policies. Create landlord packs where required to ensure site owners are aware of the hazards present. Maintain RF models, policies and procedures Ensure any changes are clearly communicated to relevant stakeholders Support the resolution of third-party RF issues as they arise. Provide written information and reports to support our response Respond to onsite incidents e.g. RF alarms, investigate and provide support and information to resolve Write briefing notes, bulletins and alerts. Ensure written and e information is maintained Provide support for assessment of RF safety on equipment supplied to customers Deliver effective proactive and professional RF advice and support to the business. Create and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with internal customers Processing ICNIRP certification where required to support projects Providing RF technical expertise to support projects, in terms of ensuring project owners take RF safety considerations into account Qualifications Engineering or science degree Required Expertise: Significant experience of working as an engineer in the broadcast and telecoms industry The Person: Member of IET or other relevant professional body Incorporated or Chartered Engineer, or working towards High level of technical understanding of radio frequency engineering associated with broadcast and telecommunication systems Understanding of principles of health & safety management Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both written and verbally Proficient in prioritising multiple tasks and assess risk Ability to influence We are the undisputed leader in UK TV and radio broadcast, and the UK’s leading Smart utilities platform, directly shaping the future of connectivity.
