An SEN Secondary School in South Birmingham is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to cover a long-term absence during the spring term. It is a successful school with a long and proven track-record of providing high quality education for pupils with ASC. The school has strong leadership, gained a 'good' in their last Ofsted and gives support and development to members of staff working in the school on a temporary basis. The role is Monday to Friday and is term time only. The post will run from June till the end of the academic year.
Your new role
You will be working with a class of 12 Year 9 pupils, providing support to the pupils and working alongside other Teaching Assistants and the Class Teacher.
You will be supporting pupils with teaching and learning as well as with behaviour and social and emotional wellbeing.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have recent experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant and have experience of working with children with Autism.
You will ideally also have Team Teach training or an understanding of the process.
