From our beginnings back in 1999 we now have a range of over 350 products. Plans are in place to continue this growth over the coming years, and a key part of that will be the addition of a Product Portfolio Manager.
The role –
The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising the full supplement range to drive sustainable commercial growth and help people to better health and happiness. Connecting with all departments, the role analyses sales performance, market trends and customer insights to identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives and shape the vitamin and supplement roadmap. They build strong business cases to secure buy-in and organise cross-functional teams to deliver new product launches and enhancements in line with the Viridian ethos of Effective, Ethical and Pure.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Co-ordinate the end-to-end product portfolio strategy, engaging with the team across Viridian to define, analyse, and prioritise business requirements and growth targets.
* Lead portfolio planning in collaboration with marketing, sales and nutrition teams, including new product development, range extensions, rationalisation and lifecycle management.
* Review and conduct regular analyses of category/product performance, identifying success areas to be replicated, gaps, opportunities and risks. Benchmark against key competitors in vitamins & minerals, sports nutrition, and wellness supplements, as well as other potential categories.
* Source, track and evaluate market trends and competitor analysis, monitoring competitor launches, pricing strategies, and marketing campaigns
* Capture and clarify consumer and trade requirements through workshops, interviews, and discussions.
* Use data tools to develop data models and forecasts, building dashboards and reports to visualise insights, drive decision making and communicate/present to various stakeholders.
* Build business cases for new supplement concepts and provide recommendations for go-to-market and brand strategy based on data insights.
* Present insights, recommendations and performance updates to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
* Orchestrate and project manage cross-functional delivery to ensure initiatives are executed effectively and on time. Project manage product changes, new product launches and development through the business, including forecasting and organising the funnel/pipeline from idea conception to post launch and ongoing review.
* Identify and manage products to delist, creating a viable plan to transition sales.
* Define and track KPIs to ascertain portfolio performance, project success and return on investment, as well as further inform future work.
* Maintain up-to-date and well-structured records and project files.
* Act as the central point of accountability for portfolio performance and growth delivery.
What you will bring to the role:
· 7+ years’ experience in product management, portfolio management, category management or commercial strategy roles.
· Demonstrated track record of identifying and delivering against growth opportunities
· Proven ability to successfully bring cross functional teams together
· Strong experience in product analysis and product development
· Higher education
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (high level Excel) and data analysis tools
